Mohamed Salah started on the bench for the second game in a row in the Champions League.

The Reds got back to winning ways after four successive losses, with their victory over Eintracht Frankfurt coming in emphatic circumstances.

Liverpool scored five, with all coming from different goalscorers, as well as none of them coming from Salah.

In the past, it would have almost been unheard of for the Egyptian not to be on the scoresheet, but he appears to not be as key to Arne Slot’s plans as he once was before.

Of course, this will be very frustrating for Salah himself, with his reaction at full-time proving just how this situation is making him feel.

Mohamed Salah walked straight down the tunnel

When a team wins any game, the first thing they should always do is go and applaud their fans.

This is even more important due to the fact that Liverpool were away from home and had not won for four games, although Salah had other ideas.

As spotted by journalist Lewis Steele, the Egyptian walked straight down the tunnel at full-time, with it looking as if he was ‘in a strop’.

It must be a very tough time for Salah right now as he appears to no longer be the star man, but this is simply not good enough and will likely come with some sort of warning.

As well as starting on the bench and getting just 15 minutes, he had a few chances to score or assist but failed to do either, something else that would have frustrated him.

Salah certainly needs to find his form again very soon because after Liverpool’s performances in this one, he might not get his place back any time soon.

Florian Wirtz looked excellent on the right

Liverpool had always struggled when Salah was not available to play, but now, they have a few options.

They tried Jeremie Frimpong there in the past to no avail, but this time Florian Wirtz had a go and looked much better.

The German picked up two assists and looked like he enjoyed the freedom a lot more, suggesting he could get the chance there again.

Salah may feel a little hard done by, but his performances simply have not been good enough, hence why it might be time to try other alternatives.
