Arne Slot must drop ‘unbelievable’ Liverpool star for Frankfurt game due to UEFA rule

Arne Slot might be forced into making some changes ahead of their Champions League fixture.

The Reds are in a bit of a sticky situation right now after losing four on the bounce, but they have no time to ponder as there are games coming thick and fast.

Eintracht Frankfurt away is up next for Liverpool, a game that could prove trickier than many realise given their attacking threat.

The Reds’ defence has also been very poor at the start of the season, with Slot perhaps thinking about making a few changes to his backline for this one.

However, there is one that might be basically made for him given UEFA’s rules, with his recent performances suggesting it might be better to leave him at home.

Conor Bradley must be rested for Eintracht Frankfurt game

The right-back area has been a bit of a problem position so far for Slot, with the Dutchman having three options.

Dominik Szoboszlai has played there a few times, whereas Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley are the natural options in this department.

The latter, however, has got the nod in the last few, suggesting he might be more in favour at this point in time.

With that said, due to UEFA’s rules, Bradley cannot be risked in this game due to implications further down the line.

When a player picks up three yellow cards in the competition, they are suspended for the next game, and the Northern Irishman already has two.

So, if he does get booked on Wednesday night, he would miss the eagerly-anticipated fixture against Real Madrid, a game he simply has to start in.

As the best option defensively, the 22-year-old is needed in this game due to their attacking prowess, especially as he did a good job last time these two teams met.

That crunching tackle on Kylian Mbappe alone is also enough for him to play against them again, with fans hoping for a repeat of the challenge and result.

He has also been ‘unbelievable’ when playing for his country, so taking that form into this game will hopefully benefit Liverpool massively.

Conor Bradley has the chance to show Trent Alexander-Arnold

The main reason why Liverpool’s meeting with Real Madrid is so built-up is because it is the homecoming of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

However, it will be far from pleasant for the scouser and Reds fans will be desperate for him to be on the wrong end of a big scoreline.

Bradley will also have one of the most important roles during this match as if he shines from right-back, he really will be rubbing it in the face of ‘Trent’ even more.

With that said, it feels like an obvious choice for Slot to give Frimpong a run-out against Frankfurt, especially as it will mean Bradley is ready to take on Real Madrid.
