Liverpool are going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment.
The Reds have now lost three games on the bounce, with questions being asked about whether they have what it takes to beat Arsenal to the Premier League title this season.
Since the start of the summer, most people have guessed that Liverpool would run away with the Premier League title and with all the signings they made, this only became more and more likely.
And, while things started off well in the 2025-26 season, they’ve gone a tad pear-shaped over the last few weeks with several members of Arne Slot’s first-team squad failing to perform.

Mohamed Salah is one of these, with Sam Allardyce sharing what he thinks Sir Alex Ferguson would have done with the Egyptian King by now.
Sam Allardyce thinks Sir Alex Ferguson would have already sold Mohamed Salah
Salah only cost Liverpool £34million to bring to Anfield, with the attacker quickly becoming one of the Reds’ best-ever purchases.
He’s often carried Liverpool on his back with his 57 goal contributions last season, one of the main reasons behind the Anfield outfit doing so well.
This season, with the likes of Isak and Florian Wirtz around him, Salah was expected to be even better, but in reality, that’s been far from the case.
And, while speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Allardyce gave his thoughts on Salah’s recent form.
“Quick question there, Sam. Do you think Sir Alex would have got rid of Mo Salah?” Allardyce was asked
“Probably,” Allardyce said.
“He knew when to move a player on,” the co-host said.
“Yeah, he did. Without a doubt, he was a master. And he was a master at maximising the fee.
“He let them go just before it ended up being not as valuable as he particularly was at that particular time and always had.
“But of course, when he built a side, he built it to last. So like I said, he said his sort of format in life at Man United was, what do I need?
“And he’d tell the board, I need it as quick as I can get it.”
Mohamed Salah needs to get back to his best for Liverpool
If Liverpool want any chance of winning the Premier League or Champions League this season, they need Salah to get back firing.
The winger has been Liverpool’s best player by a country mile over the last few seasons, but these last few weeks have shown that he’s actually human.
And, while every player is allowed to have the odd rough patch here and there, it feels like Salah can’t even manage to get a shot on target at the moment, especially after his performance against Chelsea.
Slot’s main goal with Liverpool this season will no doubt be to try and win the Champions League.

However, if players such as Salah aren’t performing, they won’t have a chance of beating teams such as Paris Saint-Germain.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but one thing is for sure: Salah needs to get out of his rut as soon as possible.
