Liverpool have had a rather impressive start to their 2025-26 Premier League season.
The Reds have spent over £400million on improving their ranks this summer and, at the moment, they’re reaping the rewards.
Players such as Hugo Ekitike have hit the ground running instantly, with others, such as Florian Wirtz, also finally starting to find their feet at Anfield.

And even though it’s still early days, former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey believes that his ex-club will keep their place at the top of the table by the time the end of the season comes around.
Emile Heskey thinks that Liverpool will win the Premier League title this season
One of the main things that Liverpool have managed to do this season is prove how well they can perform.
Indeed, a lot of their goals have come within the final few minutes of the game this term, such as Virgil van Dijk’s header against Atletico Madrid, but the fact they’ve won all but one of their games across all competitions so far shows how strong they actually are.
Players such as Alexander Isak are also finally getting up to the desired level of fitness, which can only mean good things for the Anfield outfit going forward.
And, in a video posted on Sky Sports’ TikTok page, Heskey gave his thoughts on the Reds’ chances of winning the Premier League title this term.
“Let’s put you [Liverpool] in top,” Heskey said.
The Englishman then had Arsenal in second, Manchester City in third and then Chelsea in fourth.
Steve Sidwell thinks Liverpool have too much quality not to win the Premier League this term
If the opening five games of the Premier League season have shown us anything, it’s that Liverpool are going to be a problem this season.
The Reds are among the best teams in the world at the moment, with Arne Slot more or less having two top-class players per position.
This may seem a bit like overkill, but when Liverpool could be playing 50 games per season, it feels like it makes plenty of sense.
And, while live on Sky Sports, former Premier League midfielder Steve Sidwell gave his thoughts on Liverpool’s last-minute goals and their chances of winning the title this term.
“I think with Liverpool, everyone is going on about them winning these games and scoring late and is that bad, I think it’s brilliant,” he said.
“I think because you get that mentality when you go into games now, and, if it’s tight towards the end of the game, you’ve got that mindset just like how it was with Man United back in the last 90’s and early noughties.
“They’ve got that mindset where they know they can go and win a game so I only see that as a positive.
“The competition for places is brilliant, everyone is going to be at it, everyone is going to want to play in the games, their training is going to be going through the roof.
“I thought before a ball was kicked this would be the most entertaining Premier League on record, I’m looking at it now going, Liverpool could win this league at a canter.”
Of course, these are all just predictions at the moment, but with the way that things have panned out for Liverpool thus far, it’s hard to see anything but a title win.
Slot has crafted an exceptional team and, because a lot of his first-team squad are still new, plenty of relationships still need to be developed, which, in turn, could make the Reds even better.
