Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea in their most recent Premier League clash.
The game was mostly dominated by the Blues, with Arne Slot’s men having the odd chance here and there.
However, the fact that Chelsea bagged their winning goal in the dying embers of the game likely hurt fans a little bit more than it probably should have.
There were moments in the game when it felt like Liverpool would take the lead, but, before Chelsea scored their winner, it felt like Liverpool were lucky to even get a point from the clash.
Although the Anfield outfit’s poor run of form can’t be solely blamed on one person, Mohamed Salah’s recent performances have been well below par.
Last season, the attacker was Liverpool’s most important player, but this term, things just aren’t clicking.
In fact, Sam Matterface has even said that he saw the Egyptian King apologise to one of his teammates during the game.

Another player who hasn’t really lived up to expectations this season is Florian Wirtz.
The young German was expected to be Liverpool’s answer to their creativity problems, but, since arriving at Merseyside, the attacking midfielder has only assisted his teammates once.
Slot chose to bench the 22-year-old against Chelsea, but when he was brought on, he created plenty of chances.
An example of this is when Wirtz played an inch-perfect ball to Salah, which resulted in the attacker skying his shot.
This, according to talkSPORT journalist Sam Matterface, is when Salah mouthed the word ‘sorry’ to the midfielder.
“His touch to set up Mo Salah at the beginning of the second half was just an example of the quality the kid has got,” he said on talkSPORT’s Premier League All Access Podcast.
“And by the way, if you look at the statistics and look through some of the metrics, Crook, you can see that he has been creating loads of chances.
“I wonder, Dean, actually, if the others are letting him down and looking at Mo Salah’s reaction to missing that chance after Wirtz had played him in with that lovely little balletic turn, he actually mouthed the words, sorry, he did.”

The main thing that Liverpool’s fans were excited about this year was how much better their attack was going to be compared to last season.
Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike are just two of the players that Liverpool have brought in this summer, and although the latter of the two has made a massive difference, Isak still hasn’t quite found his feet yet.
This, coupled with the fact that Salah and Wirtz can’t figure one another out, means that, at the moment, Liverpool seem much worse off after spending over £300million on improving their attack than they were when they had Luis Diaz in their first-team squad.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but, unless Liverpool’s players start to gel soon, questions will have to be asked.
