Arne Slot overachieved with Liverpool last season, especially since it was his first campaign in charge of the club.
Many knew that the Reds had the quality to win the Premier League title, but nobody expected the Dutchman to manage it during his first season in charge.
This season, things got off to a flying start once again as the Reds were unbeaten in the top flight until they were beaten by Crystal Palace on Saturday, thanks to a last-minute winner from Eddie Nketiah.

And, although Slot’s achievements at Anfield are second-to-none, that didn’t stop former Manchester United defender Phil Jones from making a rather outrageous claim about the former Feyenoord boss.
Phil Jones believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a better manager than Arne Slot
As mentioned, Slot was easily the best manager in the Premier League last term.
The Dutchman outdid everyone’s expectations, even if he was helped out a tad by Mohamed Salah’s exceptional form.
Although he’s not quite at the same level as some Premier League greats just yet, if Liverpool continue on this upward trajectory, it won’t be long until he’s spoken about in that way.
Despite Slot’s achievements last season, former Manchester United man Jones believes that Solskjaer is a better manager than the Dutchman.
This comes after Phil Jones was asked by Planet Futebol to stay silent until he heard a better coach than former Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and even though Slot popped up, he only broke his silence for Pep Guardiola.
Arne Slot must shut down his critics and win the Premier League or Champions League this season
This season, Liverpool’s performances are going to be scrutinised for the smallest things.
The Reds have spent over £400million on new players, and if the likes of Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz don’t manage to get into a decent run of form, questions are going to be asked.
Although success isn’t just judged by trophies, they’re a large part in the way that fans and pundits judge how good a player or manager’s stint at a club is.
Of course, Slot’s time with Liverpool has already been successful, but if he doesn’t end up winning anything this term, the amount of scrutiny he’d receive would be second to none.

If the Dutchman wants to shut down his critics, he needs to ensure that he wins every trophy he possibly can.
Here’s hoping that the Anfield outfit come away with at least one title this term.
