Liverpool were beaten for the first time this season by Crystal Palace who scored a late winner.
One of Liverpool’s worst first-half performances this season, with a goal from Ismaila Sarr putting Palace ahead.
The Reds’ unbeaten run looked to be saved by a Federico Chiesa goal out of nowhere to end the game level, but Eddie Nketiah at the back post wins the game for Oliver Galsner’s side.
Arne Slot will definitely be frustrated with some of the individual performances of his side, but the team as a whole looked disjointed.
Defence
Alisson Becker: 8 – There was nothing that could be done about both Palace goals, and it was proven by the fact that the Brazilian had a stellar game, saving the Reds from going at least 4-0 down in that first half. It was more of the same in the second half, and that is what was needed.
Conor Bradley: 5 – While he found himself tactically subbed off after the first half of football, he did work quite hard this afternoon and seemed more comfortable than others. Bradley was at fault for giving away the corner, but it was so close that not much could be done about it.
Virgil van Dijk: 4 – It was a struggle in the first half for the Dutchman, but it was probably as much down to the poor performance of his defensive partner. However, an improved second half saw him fend off some attacks, but not his most composed display of the season.
Ibrahima Konate: 3 – A nightmare first half where he looked out of the game, pressured and dispossessed too easily at every opportunity, with his mistakes leading to big chances for the opposition. Konate made slight adjustments, but did not do enough before being subbed off.

Milos Kerkez: 3 – The Hungarian found himself as a makeshift left winger in the opening half but could not translate it into an attacking threat. He did not do anything of note in the second half and was at fault for the goal that gave the Reds their first defeat of the season.
Midfield
Alexis Mac Allister: 5 – He was not able to offer much going forward and could barely put any of his influence on the game when he had the ball. A similar situation in the second half, where he was booked and then subbed off for Curtis Jones.
Dominik Szoboszlai: 7 – In the first half, he was arguably the best going forward and was the most creative. Even a switch to right back in the second half again showed his versatility and again worked the hardest out of the team.
Ryan Gravenberch: 5 – At fault for the first goal, but he tried to drive the team forward. A very muted second-half performance, which was a shame given his world-class qualities, but it felt he was played out of the game by Palace.
Attack
Florian Wirtz: 4 – While he may have looked more comfortable in his new role for the opening 45 minutes, it was a typical Wirtz performance where he was too easily taken off the ball and could not add much to the attack. A perfect opportunity to undo that in the second half could have improved the rating, but it was a bad miss, taking his eye off the ball and ultimately missing the biggest chance of the game.
Alexander Isak: 4 – A very muted performance in the first half, where he was single figures in the touches with no big opportunities in front of goal. Though an improved second half for the star signing, with more chances, he failed to convert some of his most clear-cut before being subbed off for Rio Ngumoha.

Mohamed Salah: 3 – It was a non-existent performance for the usually consistent winger, but he felt locked out of the game with little service coming down his right flank. Salah felt like he was not sure what to do with little to no chances.
Substitutes
Cody Gakpo: 6 – Few good opportunities, looked better when he came on, but should have buried at least one. The one thing you can say is that he was trying to make the team more positive.
Curtis Jones: 4 – He was subbed on for Mac Allister, but could not make his mark in this game.
Federico Chiesa: 8 – Super-sub Chiesa came on and put Liverpool level with a low-driven effort curled into the bottom corner. He was a threat from the second he came on and produced a great moment, which was spoiled by the late winner.
Jeremie Frimpong: 5 – Tried to bring some much-needed energy but was again not able to find space against this very well-structured Glasner side.
Rio Ngumoha: N/A – He arrived for the final 10 minutes, but did not do enough to provide a rating for the young player.
