Liverpool have won all four of their Premier League games this season.
And, after their Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, they’ve now increased their winning streak to five games in a row.
The tie on Wednesday evening ended 3-2 to Liverpool thanks to Virgil van Dijk’s towering header against the La Liga outfit.
However, much like the rest of their games this season, the Reds left it until the dying embers of the clash to finally get the win over the line.
And, according to Jermaine Pennant, this is something that should be worrying Liverpool’s rivals.

That is, especially since they’ve been nowhere near their best this season.
Jermaine Pennant believes Liverpool’s results should be worrying their Premier League rivals
Throughout each of Liverpool’s games this season, it’s felt like there’s been a chance of the Reds losing their games.
There have also been several moments that have made fans question whether the £400million they spent during the summer was put to good use.
However, now that Alexander Isak has made his Liverpool debut and Florian Wirtz finally seems to be finding his feet, things can only get better for the Anfield outfit.
And, this is the exact reason why Pennant believes the Reds’ rivals should be worried, as, even though they’ve not played all that well, the fact that their late goals have won them the game should be concerning for the rest of the league.
“It takes at least 10 games for things to start settling,” he said while live on talkSPORT.
“That’s why you always judge a team in the Premier League where they’re going to be after eight or 10 games to see where they are in the places.
“So yeah, if they continue on this path, scoring late goals but not being great, then I think other teams will be worried.”
Liverpool need to improve their performances during their upcoming games
As Pennant mentioned, it’s obviously going to take time for Liverpool’s team to fully gel.
They’ve added several new players to their ranks, and even though each of them have plenty of individual quality, they still need some time to figure out how everyone plays.
People such as Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong were among the best players in their league last term, and now they’ve all been shoved together, things need to be ironed out.
Admittedly, it’s still early days, and there’s plenty of time for development to occur among Liverpool’s first-team squad, but if they don’t manage to hold onto their leads through the game, they could end up missing out on valuable points.

And, while late goals have worked out for them so far, there’s going to come a point when their luck runs out, which will be far from ideal.
Of course, only time will tell what the future has in store, but for now, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen.
