Alexander Isak made his long-awaited Liverpool debut against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.
The two sides were facing one another in the Champions League, with the game being held at Anfield.
Atletico Madrid, rather unsurprisingly, played with 11 men behind the ball at all times, with their defence being more than solid.
Their lack of desire to attack without Julian Alvarez was staggering, but that didn’t stop the Reds from going ahead, thanks to a rather strange goal that was scored by Andy Robertson.
Liverpool then doubled their lead after an inch-perfect goal from Mohamed Salah that saw him bobbing and weaving through Atletico’s defence.

However, even though it was the Scotsman’s first Champions League goal for six years, that wasn’t the main talking point of the game.
Alexander Isak’s shooting got Liverpool’s fans excited before the game
Isak’s Liverpool debut is perhaps one of the most anticipated debuts for any player ever.
The striker has long been linked with a Liverpool transfer, with the Reds’ interest first being reported in June.
And, although there were times when it felt like a move wouldn’t come to fruition, in the end, a £125million bid was enough to convince Newcastle to let him go.
Indeed, he may not have scored a goal during his first 45 minutes on the pitch, but before the game had even started, his shooting had fans jumping for joy.
That is, at least according to a report from Liverpool ECHO journalist, Beth Lindop.
“Big cheer from the Kop as Alexander Isak absolutely hammers the ball into the back of the net during the warm-up,” she wrote.
“They’ll be hoping for more of that in about half-an-hour’s time.”
Alexander Isak must prove he’s worth starting over Hugo Ekitike at Liverpool
One of the main questions that has been brought up about Liverpool this season is how both Isak and Hugo Ekitike are going to be kept happy.
Both strikers deserve to start for Liverpool, and even though both are better in their natural number nine position, it feels like one or both of them will have to compromise here and there.

And, although Isak may have cost Liverpool £125million, the recent form that Ekitike has shown will no doubt make it hard for the Sweden international to continue beating him to a starting spot.
Of course, Wednesday’s game against Atletico was the first of many for Isak, and there’s plenty more to come, but on the face of things, it’s clear that Liverpool are going to have some problems between who’s starting this season.
