Liverpool signed most of their targets during the summer transfer window.
Arne Slot and Richard Hughes allowed the club to undergo a massive rebuild, with over £400million being spent on new arrivals.
The two biggest names to have been brought in were Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, and, although Isak has just made his Liverpool debut against Atletico Madrid, the latter of the two is still getting used to his new surroundings.
Although Liverpool haven’t been at their best yet this season, the fact that they’ve won all four of their Premier League games and have now added three points to their Champions League tally shows how good they already are.

However, they could have been even better if they had managed to get the transfer of one player over the line.
Arne Slot says Marc Guehi will be upset about his failed Liverpool move
One of the main talking points on deadline day was where the future of Marc Guehi was going to lie.
Liverpool had agreed a £35million fee for the centre-back with Crystal Palace, but in the dying embers of the transfer window, the Eagles pulled out.
Indeed, they only pulled out due to not being able to source a replacement, but the fact that they allowed Guehi to undergo his Liverpool medical and then they still pulled out, shows how unprepared they were for his departure.
And now, while speaking to Sky Sports, Slot has shared an insight into how Guehi is likely feeling now that he’s still a Crystal Palace player.
“For us, it was of course a disappointment [not signing Guehi],” he said.
“But for the player, I assume as well, because he was expecting to come to us.
“I tried to put myself in the players’ shoes, but that can happen with a player from us as well, that a player wanted to leave, but in the end couldn’t because we couldn’t get the player we wanted.
“That happens in football many times.”
Marc Guehi could have taken Liverpool to an entirely new level
It goes without saying that Guehi is currently one of the Premier League’s best centre-backs.
The Englishman has been keeping Palace’s back four together for as long as many can remember, with the former Chelsea man now arguably England’s best centre-back.
Of course, he’s still just 24 years old, which means that there’s still time for him to become even better.
And to be honest, that’s a rather scary thought, especially with how much he dominates most opponents that he faces.
However, if he’d joined Liverpool this summer, he’d currently be fighting Ibrahima Konate for a place in Slot’s starting XI, which isn’t what anyone would’ve wanted.

But if Konate doesn’t end up extending his stay and instead chooses to leave upon the expiry of his contract, there’s no reason why Liverpool couldn’t make another move for him in January, or even wait until next summer to sign him for free.
At the moment, there’s no knowing what’s going to happen, but if Guehi still wants to join Liverpool, there’s no reason why the Anfield outfit shouldn’t go after him again in future windows.
