Liverpool have sold a lot of their first-team squad this summer.
Arne Slot made it clear that he was looking to improve his ranks before deadline day, and to be honest, he’s more than achieved that.
Even if Liverpool weren’t on the cusp of signing Alexander Isak, it would have been an impressive window with the likes of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike both joining the Anfield outfit.
However, due to the amount of money that Liverpool have spent this summer, it’s meant that some players have had to be sold who they’d have likely wanted to keep around.

And, with there still being a decent amount of time left before the window slams shut at 7 pm, plenty more moves could be sanctioned.
Aston Villa are now eyeing a potential move for Harvey Elliott
One of the main players to have been linked with a Liverpool exit this summer has been Harvey Elliott.
The midfielder played a starring role in England’s Under-21 Euros win, with several clubs from across the globe interested in acquiring his services.
RB Leipzig have been the ones most linked with an interest in Elliott, but since Liverpool are holding out for a fee worth £50million, a deal hasn’t been agreed.
And now, as per a fresh report from journalist Paul Joyce, it seems like Aston Villa are interested in the young Englishman.
“SC Freiburg midfielder Merlin Rohl is a target for Everton in a deal that could cost €20 million,” he wrote.
“Plus , Aston Villa monitoring Harvey Elliott and AC Milan offered €15m euros for Joe Gomez.”
Joe Gomez looks set to stay at Liverpool despite AC Milan interest
In Joyce’s update, he added that AC Milan’s offer for Joe Gomez was worth €15million (£13million), which is a fee well below what his value should be.
The 28-year-old is one of the most versatile players that Liverpool have among their ranks at the moment, and on his day, he’s arguably the Reds’ second-best centre-back.
Of course, Ibrahima Konate is often the one chosen over him due to things such as injuries, but as per an update from Athletic journalist James Pearce, it seems like Gomez is set to stay at Anfield, for now at least.
Pearce outlines that after the Reds’ 1-0 win against Arsenal on Sunday ‘senior Anfield sources’ shared that the Englishman was ‘unlikely to depart.’

Of course, this could all change with the arrival of Marc Guehi, but with Liverpool’s hopes of signing Guehi now ‘in the balance,’ it feels more likely that Gomez will stay put and become one of four centre-back options for Slot this season.
However, seeing as though it’s deadline day and things can change in an instant, it’s unclear whether their stance will be the same by the end of the day.
