Harvey Elliott’s Liverpool future has been questioned since the transfer window first opened.
The midfielder was more often than not left on the sidelines by Arne Slot last season, with players such as Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai being chosen over the former Fulham man.
And, since Florian Wirtz was brought in to become Liverpool’s new number 10, it felt like it was only a matter of time before Elliott was sold.

However, now there are only a couple of days left in the transfer window, Elliott is seemingly being kept at the club, for now at least.
Liverpool could still sell Harvey Elliott if they sign another attacker this summer
One of the main reasons that Elliott is likely being kept around is that the Reds need all the attacking support they can get.
At the moment, they only have four senior attackers among their ranks, and although Rio Ngumoha scored against Newcastle, he’s too young to be relied upon each week.
With this in mind, it’s clear why Slot wants to keep Elliott around, but as per a report from American outlet ESPN, if Liverpool bring in another attacker this summer, that could ‘change’ things.
Another reason why Elliott could still be sold this summer is if they receive an offer they ‘simply can’t refuse.’
ESPN also add that the Englishman is seen as a ‘key part’ of Slot’s squad with the Reds still ‘keen’ to keep hold of the 22-year-old this summer.
Liverpool must keep hold of Harvey Elliott this summer
Although Elliott may not have been an important part of Slot’s plans last season, there’s no denying that he’s an exceptional player.
The young Englishman was Jurgen Klopp’s star boy, with the German often finding ways to shoehorn him into his starting XI.
Although he started his career as a right winger, it was quickly established that he was better off in the centre of the park due to his keen eye for goal and ability to make something out of nothing.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but with the way that things have panned out thus far, it feels like Liverpool would be much better off if they kept him around for just a little longer.
