Liverpool have been incredibly busy in the transfer market this summer, spending heavily but also recouping their losses in several departures from Anfield.

Arne Slot is looking to shape the Liverpool squad to his liking after proving he is the man to lead them forward following Jurgen Klopp’s departure from the club in May 2024.

The Dutch manager would guide the club to their 20th English top-flight title, and now Liverpool want to build on this success from a strong position and have invested heavily in Slot.

Liverpool agreed to two transfer signings last season, with the first coming in the shape of Federico Chiesa, who joined from Juventus for a reported fee of £10 million.

Meanwhile, their next signing was Giorgi Mamardashvili, with a deal between Liverpool and Valencia being struck in August 2024; however, the Georgian keeper would remain in La Liga for the campaign with the Spanish club before joining the Reds ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Liverpool got their business started early this summer, but they have continued to be linked to players throughout the window, with this set to continue right up to the close of business on September 1.

The Reds have added eight new arrivals this summer, with the latest being Giovanni Leoni from Parma.

The most notable signings have been the additions of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez.

Liverpool have spent nearly £200 million on bringing these players to Anfield this summer, according to Transfermarkt.

Wirtz and Frimpong joined the Premier League champions from Bayer Leverkusen, while Hugo Ekitike joined from fellow Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

The defensive reinforcement of Milos Kerkez joined from Bournemouth, while recent addition Giovanni Leoni was signed from Parma.

Liverpool also made some additions looking towards the future this summer in the shape of Ármin Pécsi from Puskas in Hungary and Will Wright from Salford City, while Freddie Woodman has been brought in for free from Preston North End.

The last piece of Slot’s puzzle for the season was the acquisition of Alexander Isak, with the Swedish striker joining the club in a British record transfer on deadline day bringing to an end his summer long saga.

It looked for all the world that Liverpool would add one more signing after the transfer market shut in the shape of Marc Guehi; however, the deal fell through and he will remain at Crystal Palace despite the fee and medical being completed.

Liverpool may have spent heavily this summer; however, they have recouped this money through several player sales of some notable Liverpool favourites.

The Reds bid farewell to Darwin Nunez, as the Uruguayan made the move to Saudi Arabia, Caoimhin Kelleher moved to Premier League rivals Brentford, and Luis Diaz made the switch to Bayern Munich.

Liverpool have also looked to further the development of several of their youth, as they have sent them off to clubs across the English divisions and Europe to gain first-team experience in the hope they can have a significant impact in the future.

Notably, Owen Beck has joined Derby County in the Championship, while Lewis Koumas has joined Birmingham City.

Meanwhile, several players have left Liverpool on free transfers upon the expiry of their current contract, with the biggest name to do this being Trent Alexander-Arnold, who joined Real Madrid this summer, despite getting £10 million for the England international.

One exit on transfer deadline day was Harvey Elliott, with the creative midfielder leaving to join Aston Villa on loan, with an obligation to buy for £35 million at the end of the season.
