Luis Diaz makes new Liverpool request as Bayern Munich ready their next bid

Luis Diaz feels more out than in at Liverpool at the moment with the 28-year-old looking for a way out of Anfield.

The attacker was in some of the best form of his career last season as he was arguably the second-best attacker in Arne Slot’s first-team squad.

Diaz managed to contribute to 25 goals across all competitions, and although there have been a couple of bids for the Colombia international, none have been anywhere near the Reds’ valuation of £86million.

And now, it feels like Diaz is even further out of the door after the latest news that has emerged on his future.

Luis Diaz has requested that Liverpool accept Bayern Munich’s next bid

Since the start of the summer transfer window, questions have been raised about where the future of Diaz could lie.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona have been the teams most linked with a move for the attacker, but there have also been murmurs about a potential move to the Saudi Pro League.

However, as per a report from journalist Pipe Sierra via his personal X account, it’s clear that his heart is set on a move to Bayern.

“Luis Díaz (28) has requested that Liverpool, if they are not going to renew his contract (as promised in May), accept the offer from Bayern Munich that is about to arrive,” he wrote.

“The Colombian winger wants to improve his conditions and seize the opportunity with the German team.”

Liverpool should sell Luis Diaz and look at signing Rodrygo Goes this summer

Ever since the summer transfer window opened, Liverpool have been at the centre of attention.

The Reds have arguably already made the signing of the window by bringing in Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for a club-record fee.

And since it’s been made clear that Diaz doesn’t want to stay at Liverpool without a contract extension, links with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes have surfaced.

The attacker was initially expected to make the move to Arsenal, but after Mikel Arteta opted to go for Noni Madueke instead, that deal was taken off the table.

Rodrygo was also in impressive form for Los Blancos last term, but after Xabi Alonso left him out of his starting XI for five straight games in the Club World Cup, he became concerned about his future.

Indeed, these are all just rumours at the moment, but if Slot is forced to sell Diaz this summer, there won’t be a much better player available on the market to replace him than Rodrygo.
