Liverpool have an abundance of talent within their ranks at the moment, with the club already spending close to £200million on improving their squad.
Players such as Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong have been brought to Anfield to add some additional creativity to the team with Arne Slot seemingly not happy having to rely on Mohamed Salah as much as he did last season.
And, even though the attacker may have been in the best form of his career, Liverpool can’t rely on him to deliver numbers like that each season.

Despite this, attackers such as Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are being consistently linked with moves away from Merseyside, leaving the Reds in a bit of a predicament.
Ben Doak is set to be given a chance to prove his worth to Liverpool
As Liverpool’s attack is likely to take a massive hit over the next couple of weeks, it’s not a surprise to see plans already being created to help solve their impending issues.
Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes has been linked with an Anfield switch, with the rumours about a potential move for Malick Fofana failing to go away too.
Now, however, as per a report from The Athletic, it seems like Ben Doak is set to be given a chance to prove his worth to Slot’s starting XI.
The report outlines that the Scotsman is set to be given the ‘opportunity to impress Slot’ during their pre-season tour despite the interest being shown in him by clubs such as Everton.
However, if he fails to impress, then he needs to put himself ‘in the shop window’ to allow the Anfield outfit to recoup some of the money they’ve spent this summer.
But, the fact that Klopp dubbed him a “special” talent, shows how much potential he possesses.

Ben Doak could be the answer to Liverpool’s problems
If only one attacker out of Nunez, Diaz and Federico Chiesa leaves this Liverpool summer, then Slot likely has enough talent among his ranks to not look for any replacements on the transfer market.
However, if two or all of the aforementioned trio choose to exit, the Reds will be in some major trouble.
And, although there are several targets available on the market for Liverpool to try and entice into making a move, due to the amount of money they’ve already spent, bringing in another two or three players seems unfeasible.
Indeed, the Anfield outfit would no doubt earn a pretty penny for the sales of their players, but without enough depth among their ranks, there’s no chance of them retaining the Premier League title.
This is why Doak could end up being the answer to Slot’s problems, as even though he only contributed to 10 goals across all competitions for Middlesbrough, there’s no denying that he’s an exciting talent.
His inclusion in Liverpool’s first-team squad would not only allow them to avoid spending any money on a replacement, but would also give them a player who would not mind being on the fringe of the first team.
Of course, only time will tell what the future has in store but for now, Doak must prove his worth to Slot to be included in his 2025-26 plans.
