Liverpool have been one of the most active teams in the 2025-26 summer transfer window.
Despite the Reds being so dominant last season, there were still a fair few areas within their ranks that needed upgrading.
Players such as Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez have been brought in as Arne Slot’s new first-choice full-backs, with that being one of the main areas within Liverpool’s first-team squad that needed upgrading.

However, with all of these new arrivals, it does mean that some players will have to be sold on so that the Anfield outfit complies with the Premier League’s PSR rules.
West Ham United are now ‘100 per cent’ interested in signing Harvey Elliott
Harvey Elliott has been called an ‘exceptional’ player in the past, with the attacker being the stand-out performer for England during the Under-21 Euros this summer.
And, since Slot chose not to give him much playing time last season, rumours about his future have started to circulate.
As per a report from journalist Dean Jones via his Patreon, it seems like West Ham United are ‘100 per cent’ interested in acquiring his services this summer.
The Hammers had a below-par campaign last season, with the East London outfit finishing 14th in the Premier League table.
However, Jones outlines that the main ‘issue’ in getting a deal for the young Englishman over the line is the fact that Elliott isn’t ‘sold on the idea’ of moving to the London Stadium.

Liverpool should keep Harvey Elliott for one more season
With the futures of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez still up in the air this summer, Liverpool could have a massive attacking rebuild on their hands.
Indeed, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo are both more than likely to stay, which gives Slot a decent base to build from.
However, since they’ve already spent a hefty chunk of change on upgrading their squad, there isn’t all that much more Liverpool can do in the market, unless players are sold.
Granted, this is likely the highest Elliott has ever been valued, with a fee worth around £45million being thrown around, but on the face of things, it feels like the Reds would be better off keeping him.

Throughout his career, he’s played on both the right wing and in attacking midfield, and although he often plays better centrally, his keen eye for goal and vision for a pass make him a more than capable right-winger.
This means that Elliott could be perfect as Salah’s back-up this summer.
Only time will tell what the future has in store, but for now, it feels like the best thing for Liverpool to do is keep the youngster among their ranks, at least for another season.
