Darwin Nunez’s Liverpool future has been at the centre of attention for some time now.
The attacker put on a fairly poor performance last season as he only contributed to 14 goals across all competitions.
Nunez was brought in during the same transfer window that Manchester City added Erling Haaland to their ranks, with many expecting the Uruguayan to be just as good as the Norwegian.
However, that has been far from the case with the future of Nunez being questioned since the 2022/23 campaign.

And this summer, it seems like he has more than one potential suitor, with another two clubs now throwing their hat into the ring.
Al-Hilal make Darwin Nunez enquiry
Since the 2024-25 summer transfer window was opened, Napoli have seemed to be the team who were most likely to add Nunez to their ranks.
However, as Liverpool are refusing to budge from their price tag for Nunez, their attention has turned towards Lorenzo Lucca once again.
And now, according to a report from the Saudi Arabian outlet Arriyadiyah, it appears that Antonio Conte’s men aren’t the only side vying for his transfer.
The report shares that Al-Hilal have ‘contacted’ Liverpool about how much a deal for Nunez would cost them.
Arriyadiyah share that Al-Hilal’s attention has now turned back towards Nunez as their talks with Victor Osimhen have fallen through, despite them offering him €40million (£34.7million) per year.
The report also outlines that AC Milan have made a ‘formal offer’ for the Uruguay international worth around €60million (£52.1million), with the teams now in ‘direct competition’ with one another.

Liverpool must let Darwin Nunez go this summer
Even though former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that Nunez was an ‘outstanding‘ player, his time at Anfield feels like it’s run its course.
The attacker has had a couple of below-par seasons at Anfield, and unless they get themselves a regular scoring number nine, they could be left behind by their title rivals.
The Reds have already been linked with several strikers this summer, such as Alexander Isak and Eintracht Frankfurt’s star boy, Hugo Ekitike.
If one of these two were to come in and replace Nunez during the 2025-26 summer transfer window, Arne Slot’s men would be in a much better position to try and retain the title and perhaps go a tad further in the Champions League.
Of course, only time will tell what the future has in store, but for now, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen.
