Liverpool travelled to Paris knowing the challenge they faced in PSG.
The Ligue 1 leaders currently sit top of the French League with a 13-point lead and have been one of the best teams in Europe since the turn of the year.
Liverpool have been in great form themselves and PSG were wary of Mohamed Salah pre-match as the Egyptian star has arguably been the best player in the world throughout the 2024/25 campaign.
Luis Enrique has been full of praise for Liverpool but the PSG coach had a plan for the Reds on Wednesday night as the Ligue 1 leaders dominated proceedings in the first 45 minutes in Paris.
Liverpool had one man to thank for going into the halftime break with the match tied at 0-0 and the Reds star received plenty of praise from the pundits on TNT Sports.

Alisson Becker was Liverpool’s hero against PSG
Alisson has always been a reliable player for Liverpool since joining the Reds in 2018 and his fingerprints can be found on the majority of the trophies the Merseyside club won under Jurgen Klopp.
Should the Premier League leaders go on to taste Champions League success this season, Arne Slot will have his goalkeeper to thank as a result of his performance in Paris on Wednesday night
The Brazilian was magnificent in the Liverpool goal, saving all five shots the Ligue 1 leaders had on target. That did not go unnoticed by the pundits on TNT Sports as Steve McManaman and Rio Ferdinand were full of praise for the 32-year-old.
“This is the weirdest chance ever. Virgil van Dijk just vacates Dembele, and tries to play him offside,” McManaman said at the halftime break on TNT Sports. To which Ferdinand replied: “The goalkeeper there’s made one great save and one great block, he’s been huge Alisson.”
“The goalkeeper has been magnificent hasn’t he,” the former Liverpool star would add, before the Man United legend finished the conversation off with a simple “tremendous.”
Alisson’s biggest moment in the first half came courtesy of some poor defending from Virgil van Dijk, an action that left Ally McCoist stunned.
Ally McCoist left stunned by what Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk did vs PSG
PSG’s biggest chance in the first 45 minutes in Paris came with 30 minutes on the clock as Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola had multiple attempts on the Liverpool goal.
Van Dijk left the former Barcelona star free to run through on goal and commentating on TNT Sports, McCoist couldn’t believe what he witnessed the Dutch star do.
“Where did Van Dijk go, where did Van Dijk go? I cannot believe it. That’s a big chance, they got to be one up there. I do not know Rio, where Van Dijk went there.”
Slot’s men will be thankful to return to Anfield with a positive result after their first-half showing, where they will need the home crowd to get them over the line against an impressive PSG side.
