Newcastle’s Alexander Isak is a player in high demand.

The Swedish striker has been one of the most impactful players in the Premier League this season as the 25-year-old has been firing the Magpies towards the Champions League and potential silverware.

Isak has featured 30 times for the Tyneside club throughout the 2024/25 campaign, producing 21 goals and five assists.

The Newcastle forward has every trait wanted in a striker and that has attracted several big clubs from around Europe.

Liverpool have been linked to Isak in recent months but a new report states that the Reds’ interest in the Sweden international is growing.

Liverpool’s interest in Alexander Isak is starting to get serious

Isak missed Newcastle’s trip to Liverpool on Wednesday night but the striker is expected to be fit when the two sides compete in the Carabao Cup final in March.

The Wembley showpiece will allow Arne Slot another chance to see the striker up close after Isak impressed the Liverpool boss back in December.

It was reported that Liverpool may not move for Isak due to Newcastle’s asking price as the Magpies are set to demand at least £120m for the 25-year-old this summer.

However, a report from The Times suggests that the Merseyside clubs’ interest in the Newcastle star is growing interest.

Liverpool will compete with Arsenal for the Swedish star’s signature as the two Premier League giants are believed to be the most interested in the Magpies ace.

Should it come down to the two English clubs, Gunners legend Ian Wright has a feeling he knows what club Isak will choose.

Ian Wright believes Alexander Isak open to Liverpool move

Darwin Nunez looks set to leave Liverpool this summer and selling the Uruguayan star will open up the door for the Reds to move for Isak.

Should the Merseyside club push for the Newcastle forward, Wright believes the 25-year-old would choose Liverpool over a switch to Arsenal.

“He’d probably go to Liverpool,” the Gunners legend said on the latest episode of Stick to Football. “I like to think that Arteta could convince him, but if we’re talking about Slot and the fact Slot doesn’t have his own team, that seems like it may be a more attractive proposition.”

The idea of Isak leading the line for Slot next season is a thought that will get Liverpool fans very excited as the Newcastle star would be perfect for the Reds.

Not only is the 25-year-old a lethal goalscorer, but the forward also has the ability to drop deep and create for his wingers, a trait Slot has shown to like in his number nine.
