The future of Darwin Nunez at Liverpool remains up in the air heading into the summer transfer window.
Liverpool signed Nunez from Benfica during the summer of 2022 as part of a £85m deal but the striker has failed to live up to expectations of that price tag.
The 25-year-old has struggled at Anfield this season for the majority of the 33 games he has featured in, producing six goals and five assists.
Al-Nassr showed interest in Nunez during the January transfer window but a deal never materialised as the Reds rejected a £62.5m offer from the Saudi Pro League club.
Nunez is expected to leave Liverpool ahead of the 2025/26 campaign and there have been several strikers linked to Anfield already to replace the Uruguay international.

Liverpool considering summer move for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins
Newcastle star Alexander Isak has been linked to Liverpool in recent weeks but there is doubt that the Reds will pay the £120m plus transfer fee the Magpies will demand for their main man.
This will leave the Merseyside club looking for alternatives and according to CaughtOffside, Liverpool have an interest in Ollie Watkins, Inter star Marcus Thuram and Wolfsburg’s Mohamed Amoura.
Amoura is the most likely route Liverpool will go down going off past business the Reds have done as the 24-year-old is still young and will not cost as much as the other three names mentioned in the report.
However, Watkins would be an incredible arrival at Anfield as the English striker has been a lethal force in the Premier League for many years and has continued that this season with 10 goals and five assists.
| Ollie Watkins | Alexander Isak | Marcus Thuram | Mohamed Amoura | |
| Games | 33 | 22 | 24 | 19 |
| Goals | 11 | 17 | 13 | 8 |
| Assists | 9 | 5 | 7 | 8 |
Being 29 will turn Liverpool off making a move for the Aston Villa star but stranger things have happened in football.
Ian Wright is one of many people who is a big fan of Watkins and it would be interesting to see the forward make the step up to a club competing for the Premier League title.

Ian Wright believes Liverpool target Ollie Watkins is ‘unbelievable’
Watkins has had some special moments in his career but none have been bigger than scoring the winning goal in the Euro 2024 semi-finals against the Netherlands last summer.
The moment in the last minute of the contest showed that the striker was made to play in the biggest of stages and witnessing the Aston Villa star have the moment pleased Wright.
Speaking on ITV after the contest, Wright said via The Independent: “I’m delighted for him. He’s worked very hard to get in the position he’s in now.
“I’m lost for words, just seeing someone finally being in a position to stretch a team, get half a chance and take a shot. I don’t know what to say. It was an unbelievable moment.”
It remains to be seen if Watkins will ever get the chance to compete in one of the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’ teams as Liverpool seem to have some interest in the Aston Villa star.
