Liverpool’s last-ever visit to Goodison Park didn’t pan out they way they had hoped following James Tarkowski’s late equaliser.
Arne Slot and Curtis Jones would be sent off in the aftermath of the goal, with Liverpool left frustrated at Michael Oliver’s decision to allow the equaliser.
Amongst all the mayhem and controversy, however, there were a few Reds players who stood out on the night.
Mohamed Salah will claim the headlines with his goal and assist, but Liverpool fans have also made sure to highlight another ‘underrated’ performance at Goodison Park.

Liverpool fans sing the praises of Alexis Mac Allister
Having fallen behind to a sloppy Beto goal, it was Alexis Mac Allister who got Liverpool back into the game, with an expertly taken header.
Conor Bradley hailed Mac Allister’s display at Goodison – praise that has since been echoed by Liverpool supporters.
One fan said (via X formerly Twitter): “Alexis Mac Allister is still one of the most underrated players itw, this guy is good at everything.”
A third fan added: “Alexis Mac Allister. That’s a player you go to war with. Fights for everything.”
“Alexis Mac Allister proper Liverpool player,” said another supporter.
Mac Allister stepped up to the plate vs Everton
Reds fans have been quick to praise their Argentine midfielder and it’s clear to see why.
Mac Allister, alongside Salah, was undoubtedly Liverpool’s best performer on the night, with his work rate and drive being a key factor in Slot’s side nearly winning the game.
As well as his goal, the 26-year-old was very bright in the final third – racking up 60 touches in total and making four passes into the final third.
Where Mac Allister thrived most, however, was in his defending, as Ryan Gravenberch’s substitution meant the Argentine was tasked with protecting the Reds back-four, making a number of crucial defensive actions in the process.
