Liverpool are picking the bones out of a dramatic 2-2 draw in the Merseyside Derby on Wednesday.
The Reds had looked destined to win and put themselves nine points clear in the Premier League, but fell to a last-second James Tarkowksi equaliser.
After Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucoure started scrapping, it was arguably a fitting end to derby days at Goodison Park.
That is unlikely to make Liverpool feel any better about the result, though, having been mere seconds away from a vital three Premier League points.
To rub salt into the wounds, Arne Slot was then sent off after the full-time whistle and looked set to miss Sunday’s game against Wolves at Anfield.
With assistant Sipke Hulshoff also dismissed, John Heitinga seemed set to take charge against Wolves. However, after some new revelations on Thursday, that has all been thrown into doubt.

Premier League post ‘incorrect’ Arne Slot ruling
It emerged earlier on Thursday that Slot was set to miss two games on the touchline, meaning he’d be absent for both the visit of Wolves and the trip to Aston Villa.
However, that is now reportedly not the case. According to journalist David Lynch – among plenty of others – no decision has yet been made on Slot and his ban.
Taking to X on Thursday afternoon, Lynch reported that the Premier League have jumped the gun regarding the Liverpool head coach.
“I’m told that the Premier League official website’s claim that Arne Slot will serve a two-match ban is incorrect,” he says.
“The FA will read referee Michael Oliver’s report before making a decision over whether to charge in the coming days. Slot on the touchline for Wolves as things stand.”
“They have three working days to decide, so could drag on until Monday,” Lynch adds.
Slot set to take charge against Wolves
If the Premier League do indeed take until Monday to decide Slot’s fate, then he will be there for Sunday’s clash with Wolves.

However, if a two-match ban is decided upon, then the Dutch coach will miss two tougher games – away at Villa and then Manchester City.
It could of course be decided that Slot is innocent of any misdemeanour and therefore receives no ban at all.
However, given how these things often go, it seems more likely that a ban will be upheld.
Liverpool could really do without this sideshow in the midst of a tricky run of games, but we’ll just have to wait and see what is decided.
