Liverpool are expected to sign a left-sided defender during the summer transfer window.
Andy Robertson has been a staple in the Reds’ starting 11 ever since moving to Anfield in 2017, however, the 30-year-old has been below par this season, leading to many fans calling for the Merseyside club to conder replacing the Scottish star ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez has been linked to Liverpool this week, while Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is admired by the board at Anfield.
Jamie Carragher has called for Liverpool to sign a left-sided defender that can play as both a centre-back and a left-back as the Merseyside club are the only team out of the ‘Big Six’ without this type of player.
It seems the Premier League leaders have taken their former defender’s comments on board as Slot looks to reunite with one of his former Feyenoord stars.

Liverpool monitoring the situation for David Hancko at Feyenoord
Upon the closing of the latest summer transfer window, David Hancko admitted that he had a conversation with Arne Slot about a move to Liverpool, although the transfer never materialised for the defender.
The Slovakian star stated that his age and asking price were issues for the Reds with Mundo Deportivo reporting that Feyenoord were asking for £30m (€35m) for the 27-year-old ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Having passed on the opportunity then, CaughtOffside reports that Liverpool are closely monitoring Hancko ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Reds are believed to be one of a number of top clubs emerging as potential suitors for the Slovakia international, though the centre-back has yet to make any kind of a decision over his future.
The report states that Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Juventus are also in the race for the Feyenoord star, with one of these clubs being the place where the 27-year-old is likely to end up as the reasons for Liverpool avoiding the player in the first place have not disappeared.

Liverpool are likely to pass on David Hancko again
Hancko’s links to Liverpool are related to the uncertainty surrounding the future of Virgil van Dijk at Anfield as the Reds captain has yet to sign a new deal with the Merseyside club despite his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Jose Fonte believes Van Dijk could join several top European clubs this summer but the Dutch star’s preference would likely be to remain at Anfield as he is captain of the Premier League leaders and a huge part of Slot’s dressing room.
Hancko would be a massive downgrade on Van Dijk and if he was to join, it could be as a backup star, with Liverpool signing another top talent to replace their captain.
£30m would be asking a lot to spend on a player for that role and being 27 does not help the Feyenoord star’s chances of a move as the Reds often bring in new players much younger.
Slot may like the player having worked with him before in Holland, but the centre-back is not the type of player the Liverpool board often move for.
