Liverpool’s incredible 2024/25 campaign wrote another chapter on Thursday night.
The Reds booked their place in the Carabao Cup final with a 4-0 win over Tottenham at Anfield with Newcastle now waiting for Arne Slot’s men in the Wembley showpiece on March 16.
Liverpool blew Spurs out of the water, highlighting why they are leading the Premier League by six points after 23 matches.

| 1 | 23 | 17 | 5 | 1 | 56 | 21 | 35 | 56 | |

Talk of Liverpool winning the quadruple started before the Tottenham match and it will only increase the more the Merseyside club keep winning.
It has always been deemed an impossible feat, with Slot naming a downside to reaching the Carabao Cup final. However, Cody Gakpo showed after the full-time whistle why this Liverpool dressing room could do it.

Cody Gakpo provides insight into Liverpool’s mentality
Gakpo opened the scoring on the night for Liverpool to make it seven goals in a row at Anfield as the Dutch star continued his fantastic season on Merseyside.
Kostas Tsimikas has described Gakpo as ‘special’ as the forward continues to have the best brought out of him by Slot.
Like many in the Reds’ squad, the 25-year-old will want to be rewarded for his efforts at the end of the campaign and spoke about Liverpool’s quadruple hopes after the Tottenham win.
“We are on the right track,” Gakpo informed Sky Sports. “We have to take it game by game, step by step. Today, good job done. We are in one final but we have a lot to play for still. We have to stay calm and focused to reach as much as possible.”
When it was suggested that everything is falling into place for Liverpool, Gakpo responded with: “We are in a good flow at the moment but we have to keep going. You know how football goes, it’s about consistency and we have to keep the momentum.”
This mentality has provided a bit of insight into the Liverpool dressing room right now as it has become clearer that Slot is keeping all his player’s feet on the ground.
This is the attitude needed to win a quadruple or even a treple, which looks to be on the cards for Liverpool throughout the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
Quadruple quest for Liverpool has begun
It has been well documented that no team in the history of English football has won the quadruple, as the feat is deemed impossible.
Man City have gone close on numerous occasions, while Liverpool gave it a very good go during the 2021/22 campaign.
Given the lack of competition playing at the level of the Reds this season, the quadruple outcome could be a possibility and the attitude of Gakpo increases the belief that Slot’s men can do it.
The dressing room at Anfield seem to have their feet on the ground and are genuinely taking their season game by game.
What the outcome of Liverpool’s season will be remains to be seen, but Gakpo’s attitude post-Tottenham hints that it could be one to remember for fans of the Premier League leaders.
