Liverpool are basking in the glory of reaching yet another Carabao Cup final after seeing off the challenge of Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds needed a big performance at Anfield after falling to defeat in the first-leg, and that’s exactly what they got.

In the end, it was all relatively straightforward. Tottenham capitulated after Cody Gakpo opened the scoring and Liverpool never looked back.

For Arne Slot, it was a special night. Slot had admitted his Wembley dream in the lead-up to the game and will now get the chance to lead the Reds out at the famous stadium next month.

With his team still going strong in all four competitions this season, the new Liverpool head coach could never have dreamed things would go so well, so quickly.

But as well as the unbelievable results Liverpool have been picking up under his leadership, Slot has also been notable for developing the players at his disposal brilliantly. Conor Bradley is one to have witnessed this first-hand.

Conor Bradley thanks Arne Slot for development

Bradley was one of the stars of the Liverpool show on Thursday. The 21-year-old stepped in fantastically for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Liverpool fans serenaded Bradley after watching his all-action display and it had the sense of being a real coming of age for the young defender.

Of course Jurgen Klopp deserves a huge amount of credit for bringing Bradley through from the Liverpool academy and giving him a chance in the first-team.

But as the Northern Irishman continues to improve, he has admitted that his game has gone to another level under Slot.

“I’m sure he is buzzing with it,” Bradley told BBC Sport when asked about his head coach.

“It is his first attempt to get there [Wembley] and he has got there. I am happy for him and he has been unbelievable since he has come in. He has developed me a lot and I’m really happy to play under him.”

Bradley enjoys his evening

There is still a way to go in his development it must be said, but if Bradley can keep turning in these performances, he is going to make an even bigger name for himself.

Jamie Carragher thinks Bradley should be Liverpool’s right-back if Trent Alexander-Arnold leaves and based on Thursday’s display, you cannot argue with that.

For the Northern Ireland international himself, he was simply delight to reach a second Carabao Cup final with his boyhood club.

“I loved it,” Bradley beamed. “We knew it was going to be a difficult game. Buzzing to get through to the final.”

Enjoy it Conor, and well done!
