Liverpool look likely to be in the market for a new centre-forward come the end of the season.
The Reds are not short of attacking options, of course, but a mixture of injury worries and a lack of form could see them make another addition.
Since his arrival last year, Arne Slot has not quite been able to settle on who should lead the line centrally for Liverpool.
Diogo Jota appeared to be the Dutchman’s preferred choice, but the Portuguese hasn’t been able to stay fit. Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez is likely to leave having failed to fully win Slot over.
As a result, Luis Diaz has filled in through the middle, but should not be seen as a long-term option.
All of this means that Liverpool fans should be watching the forward market with great interest. With that in mind, links have once again re-emerged with RB Leipzig hitman Benjamin Sesko.

Liverpool links re-emerge with Benjamin Sesko
Sesko has been linked with Liverpool plenty of times in the past. The Slovenian chose to join Leipzig from sister club RB Salzburg in 2023 when he appeared to have his pick of clubs.
Since then, Sesko has continued to catch the eye. Still only 21, he has bagged 32 goals in 71 matches for the Bundesliga side.
After hitting 18 in each of the past two seasons, Sesko has stepped things up this time, plundering 14 goals in just 29 games. He also has three assists to his name.
In that kind of form, it’s no surprise that The Athletic name Sesko as ‘one to watch’ for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Slovenia international is said to be ‘still of interest’ to a number of Premier League sides despite having recently signed a new contract with Leipzig until 2029.
Interestingly, Liverpool are named as one of the clubs to have been interested in the summer of 2024, when Sesko reportedly chose to stay at his current club.
Jurgen Klopp wowed by ‘ridiculous’ Sesko
Sesko appears to have been on Liverpool’s shortlist for a long while. Newly appointed as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer, former boss Jurgen Klopp appeared to confirm that while speaking to the press in mid-January.
“I was pretty impressed, he played a good game. He’s a good player anyway,” Klopp said via Metro after watching Sesko score live against Werder Bremen.
| Club | Apperances | Goals | Assists |
| FC Liefering | 44 | 22 | 3 |
| RB Salzburg | 79 | 29 | 5 |
| RB Leipzig | 71 | 32 | 5 |
“I’ve actually known him for a while, I knew him already when he was at Salzburg. I think we played a friendly game here when he was very, very young.
“I was really impressed,” added the former Liverpool manager. “I thought, “Where do they get all these players?, ridiculous.’”
Given how highly Klopp rates Sesko, it may be hard to prise him away from the Red Bull system. But as the likes of Arsenal, Man United and Newcastle also reportedly circle the young striker, perhaps Jurgen can do his old club a solid and finally send him on his way to Anfield.
