Liverpool are interested in signing 18-year-old RB Salzburg forward Benjamin Sesko.
That’s according to Goal who claim that The Reds are ‘closely monitoring’ the progress of the teenager.
Sesko was featured at number nine in Goal’s annual NXGN 50 best wonderkids in football. It’s claimed that Liverpool are one of several top clubs taking an interest in him.

As well as Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are mentioned as potential suitors. That’s quite a list!
Who is Sesko
Sesko is an 18-year-old forward who looks to be next off the fruitful production line in Salzburg.
The striker spent last season on-loan at the Austrian club’s sister club – second division FC Liefering. After scoring 21 goals in 29 games for them, Sesko is now making his mark in the first team.

He has three goals from seven starts in the Austrian Bundesliga. At 6ft 4in, he’s a handful for opposition defenders and also has pace to burn.
Although his goalscoring numbers don’t match up, Sesko is strikingly similar in stature to a certain Erling Haaland.
According to Sesko himself, his teammates compare him to the prolific Norwegian. In fact, Sesko claims that most of them say that he is even better than the Dortmund striker.
“My team-mates tell me that Haaland and I are very similar, especially in terms of speed. Most of them even tell me that I’m better than him!” Goal quote Sesko as saying.

It’s probably just a case of players giving their young teammate a confidence boost. But many of the Salzburg squad will also have played with Haaland during his time at the club. So the comparison could hold some weight.
Having become Slovenia’s youngest ever player last June, he is already a fully fledged international with seven caps and one goal.
Liverpool are still being touted as a possible destination for Haaland. But that seems very unlikely at this stage. If Sesko really is better than the Norwegian, then Liverpool should snap him up as quickly as possible!
