Liverpool still have until Monday if they feel like adding to their squad in the January transfer window.
The Reds have been exceptionally quiet during the winter market so far, even as big moves begin to take shape elsewhere in Europe.
For Liverpool fans, it will feel a little like deja vu. The summer window was a similar story, with Giorgi Mamardashvili and then Federico Chiesa added at virtually the last possible moment.
This time, it looks unlikely that a similar story will develop, with no arrivals expected at Anfield before February 3rd.
Although this will disappoint supporters, Liverpool’s position at the top of the Premier League table will help to soften any perceived blow.
Nevertheless, come the summer, there is a clear need to bolster the Liverpool squad. And it seems as though Arne Slot and Richard Hughes are already getting their plans in place.

Liverpool ready to ‘attack’ summer transfer window
Come the end of the season, Liverpool may well need to be replacing three huge names, as well as patching up several other areas of the team.
In short, it could be an unusually active summer for the Reds.
After sitting back and assessing following Slot’s arrival last summer, a similar tactic will surely be inadvisable for a second year in a row.
Thankfully, according to The Daily Mail, the Liverpool recruitment team appear to see things the same way.

It’s claimed that following recruitment meetings at the Liverpool training ground, it has been decided that the Reds will ‘attack’ the summer window.
Interestingly, it is reported that ‘money is no object’ for the Reds who have a healthy bank balance as they look to make the necessary additions.
Five players could still leave
Although fans would have perhaps been wanting to see some movement in January, this does at least sound promising.
Some will no doubt point out that Liverpool appear to set a similar stance at this time every year, before proceeding to do very little in the summer window. But we can only hope things are different.

In the meantime, The Mail provide updates on four potential departures before Monday’s deadline.
As Rousing The Kop exclusively revealed on Thursday, Tyler Morton is attracting interest from West Ham, while James McConnell could reportedly still go, too. However, it’s claimed that if one of the two midfielders goes, the other is likely to stay put.
Jayden Danns is said to be another one to watch, with at least three Championship clubs chasing him. Meanwhile, Kaide Gordon, recalled from a loan at Norwich City, could be set to make a second move of the season.
