Liverpool maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League after a routine 4-1 win against Ipswich Town.
Cody Gakpo was the star of the show for the Reds as the Dutch international scored a brace to see Liverpool on their way to another big victory in the English top-flight, with Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai also on the scoresheet.

Although Michael Owen noted that Arne Slot will be frustrated with conceding a late goal against Ipswich to throw away Liverpool’s clean sheet, the performance on Saturday was still a good one for the Reds, who showed why they’re the clear favourites for the Premier League title.
Indeed, Liverpool were at their destructive and creative best at Anfield on Saturday, and Troy Deeney believes one Red was the best performer in the Premier League this weekend after his display against Ipswich.

Trent Alexander-Arnold lauded after Liverpool masterclass vs Ipswich
Writing for BBC Sport, the former Watford captain lauded Trent Alexander-Arnold after his performance against Ipswich, with the England international assisting Gakpo for the winger’s second goal of the match.
With Owen also left speechless by Alexander-Arnold’s display at Anfield on the weekend, the 26-year-old defender was at the top of his game as the right-back caused problems against Ipswich all afternoon on Merseyside.
And Deeney has now joined in on praising the Liverpool superstar, with the pundit writing: “This is the first time you’re going to hear me say this and probably the last. I was at the game and I would pay a huge amount of money to watch that.
“He was incredible; passing range, fitness, endeavour, defensive work as well as attacking work. He hit the bar. I thought he was excellent. Player of the weekend by a country mile.”
Troy Deeney also impressed by Dominik Szoboszlai’s performance
Alexander-Arnold might have been named by Deeney as the best player in the Premier League this weekend, but the Liverpool no. 66 wasn’t the only Red to impress the former Forest Green Rovers manager at Anfield.

Liverpool midfielder Szoboszlai was also named in Deeney’s Team of the Week, with Deeney taking note of how much the 24-year-old Hungarian international is now growing under Slot, with the former RB Leipzig man on the score sheet.
Deeney wrote: “Szoboszlai is growing. He has high energy and gets shots off. You think back to last year and there were a lot of questions as to whether he could actually step up. He is getting into the 10 role and scoring goals.”
