Liverpool maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a comfortable 4-1 win against Ipswich Town.
A brace from Cody Gakpo coupled with goals from Mohamed Salah and Dominic Szoboszlai were more than enough to see the Reds through to an easy victory against the Tractor Boys, with Alexis Mac Allister the show for Liverpool at Anfield.

Although Arsenal managed to win away at Wolves to keep pace up with Liverpool, the Premier League title race still looks to be heading in one direction, with Arne Slot on course to win the English championship in his first year on Merseyside.
Indeed, the Dutch coach has been a revelation for Liverpool this season, yet Michael Owen believes the Reds did something against Ipswich that would have left the former Feyenoord manager frustrated on the touchline.

Owen not sure Slot ‘will be too pleased’ about Liverpool conceding vs Ipswich
Speaking on Premier League Productions, the former Liverpool star made the claim that Slot will not be too happy with the Reds conceding a late goal against Ipswich as the East Anglian side managed to get something from their visit to Anfield this season.
Owen said: “It’s a nice header from a set-piece, but I don’t think Arne Slot will be too pleased. You can get a little bit proud and protective of keeping a clean sheet, so it will be frustrating there, but in the main, it was a comfortable result for them.”
With Slot angry with his Liverpool squad for conceding against LOSC Lille earlier this week, it wouldn’t be too big of a surprise if the Dutch manager had some strong words to say to his team at full-time in the dressing room after Ipswich’s stoppage time goal.
And when looking at Liverpool’s recent results since the turn of the year, it’s easy to see why Slot could be starting to get worried about the quality of his backline given how strong the Reds were at the start of the season in the defence.
How leaky has Liverpool’s defence been recently?
With four wins from the last six games, things are going well for Liverpool, with the Anfield side comfortably top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League standings heading into February.

However, looking closer at the last six results for Liverpool shows a concerning pattern that hows the Reds are seemingly losing their edge in keeping clean sheets, with Slot’s side managing just two in all competitions.
Although results are going Liverpool’s way, this worrying trend of conceding goals and failing to keep clean sheets could be something to worry about, especially with the season about to reach it’s most important junction.
