Liverpool were at the top of their game as they secured a statement 2-0 win against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League group stage clash.

Alexis Mac Allister broke the deadlock and Cody Gakpo put the result beyond reasonable doubt with a late goal as a substitute as the Reds made it five wins from five in Europe.

It was almost the perfect night for Liverpool, but injuries to Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley left a bit of a sour taste at Anfield in the closing stages.

And Arne Slot has provided an injury update on the pair ahead of the crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City.

Bradley produced a fantastic showing against Kylian Mbappe but was seen holding his hamstring late in the game as he was substituted for Joe Gomez.

On the other hand, Konate was in pain at the full-time whistle and was seen limping off the pitch, which is bad news for Liverpool ahead of a potentially title-defining game.

When quizzed about their injuries, Slot said it’s too early to judge, although he hopes to have both players fit for the game against Manchester City.

“I know where they have pain but how bad or good it is is difficult to judge so close after the game,” said Slot at his post-match press conference.

“This is what happens during a season – we missed Trent, Jota and Alisson today and Kostas as well.

“I’m really hoping both of them are available to play because we want them all available but if not, someone else has to step up. Until now, everyone I have selected to start has shown up and that’s what’s going to happen on Sunday.”

What does Liverpool’s injury list look like?

Trent Alexander-Arnold was on the bench today but the Liverpool defender hasn’t featured since hobbling off against Aston Villa before the international break.

Diogo Jota is yet to recover from a rib injury and Federico Chiesa is still working his way up to full fitness, while Harvey Elliott also hasn’t featured since returning to the matchday squad in recent weeks.

Kostas Tsimikas is nursing an ankle injury, but Alisson Becker is back and could be in contention for the Manchester City game.

Liverpool’s injury list is slowly growing, but the Reds will hope they have luck on their side as they wait to find out if Konate and Bradley will be fit enough for this weekend.
