Liverpool made another early season statement as they secured a 2-0 win against reigning European champions Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

Second-half goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo gave the Reds all three points as Arne Slot’s side maintained their perfect record in Europe with five wins from as many goals.

Several Liverpool players were at the top of their games, but Conor Bradley had a lot of eyeballs on him as he had to deputise for Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.

And the Irishman did his reputation no harm with a fantastic performance against Kylian Mbappe.

Bradley produced a spirited showing and got himself into the game with a fantastic sliding challenge on Mbappe in the first half.

Since then, he didn’t look back as he kept the Frenchman at bay and enjoyed one of the best performances of the season.

Bradley even got himself an assist as he was involved in the passage of play that led to a brilliant opening goal from Mac Allister.

@calcio_danny jokingly added: “Conor Bradley came out here tonight and told Trent to go to Madrid,” while @Nabyllionaire added: “Madrid gonna leave England deciding to sign Bradley instead of Trent.”

@lauraw97_ appeared to take a cheeky dig at Alexander-Arnold, writing: “Conor Bradley with an assist against the champions of Europe. that’s my right back from the academy who grew up supporting the club.”
