Liverpool enjoyed themselves on Wednesday night after beating Real Madrid 2-0.
The Reds had a terrible recent record against the European champions and would have been wary of that continuing at Anfield.
In the end, they needn’t have worried. Although Madrid tested them at times – and indeed missed a penalty – Liverpool were comfortably the better side.
The win makes in 17 out of 19 for Arne Slot in charge of the Reds and keeps Liverpool’s 100 per cent record in this season’s Champions League.
However, that does not mean that the night was wholly positive. Conor Bradley picked up a knock and had to be substituted after a brilliant performance.
And unfortunately, Bradley was not the only Liverpool player in the wars. After standing firm all evening, Ibrahima Konate went off with a bang at the end.

Liverpool given Ibrahima Konate injury blow
This did not look good for Konate. The £36m centre-back was bundled over forcefully by Endrick right on the final whistle.
Young, full of beans and wanting to make an impression with his team behind, you can perhaps forgive Endrick the exuburance.
However, there’s little doubt that his reckless challenge has done real damage to Konate.
Instead of celebrating a brilliant win at the final whistle, Liverpool players gathered around the defender to make sure he was okay.

Only after some time did Konate emerge, and according to journalist Lewis Steele, the 25-year-old did not look too good as he made his way from the Anfield pitch.
“The only negative for Liverpool from tonight: Ibrahima Konate limps off the pitch,” reports Steele.
“Ibrahima Konate looking in some pain as he leaves the field here. A concern ahead of the weekend,” adds David Lynch.
Konate blow is a big one for Liverpool
There were some Liverpool supporters who would have hoped to see Konate rested on Wednesday evening.
The France international has played a lot this season and has typically not been able to hold up when asked to go again and again.
But with 94 minutes on the clock it had looked as though Liverpool had gotten away with it ahead of Sunday’s game with Manchester City.
Then, in game Endrick and ruined the illusion.
Given the way Konate limped off here, it would be a surprise to see him turn out against City this weekend. A big blow for the Reds.
