Liverpool face one of their biggest tests in the UEFA Champions League this week in the form of Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
Xabi Alonso’s side are one of the most exciting sides in Europe having won the domestic double last season without losing a single game in Germany’s competitions, with Leverkusen now making waves in the Champions League.
With Liverpool interested in Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, tomorrow night’s clash at Anfield will be one to remember this season, with Arne Slot’s side looking to make it four win from four in the Champions League.
And Liverpool have today received a huge boost in training.

Ibrahima Konate spotted in Liverpool training after injury scare
Liverpool’s open training session today saw Ibrahima Konate return to the field after suffering an injury scary on Saturday against Brighton & Hove Albion, with the defender coming off due to an arm issue.
Konate took to Instagram to tell Liverpool fans that his injury wasn’t serious, and the £34m defender was true to his word with the France international spotted at the AXA training centre this afternoon with the Liverpool first-team.
With Liverpool looking for another big win in Europe, having Koante fit will be key for the Reds in their quest to claim a result over their former star midfielder in Alonso, who in turn will be eager to secure a huge victory at Anfield.
Yet with Konate now back in training for Liverpool, the former RB Leipzig star could be set for a return to the starting XI alongside Virgil van Dijk, with a strong team expected from the Reds tomorrow night.

Konate could be rested for Joe Gomez tomorrow night
Konate’s appearance in training today was a huge boost for Liverpool, with the centre-back an option for Slot against Leverkusen as Van Dijk’s partner in central defence.
Yet after what happened against Brighton, there’s a good chance that Konate could be rested for Joe Gomez, who won praise from Slot after his performance on Saturday at Anfield.
With Ray Houghton also praising Gomez’s latest Liverpool performance, giving the England international the start over Konate could be wise with the defender only just coming back to training, especially with a big clash against Aston Villa coming up on Saturday.
