Jeff Stelling tells Mohamed Salah to call two Liverpool legends for advice about his next club

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was the hero once more as he netted the winner in the 2-1 win over Brighton.

Salah loved the Liverpool win against the Seagulls, where he and Cody Gakpo helped secure a comeback victory for Arne Slot.

Slot praised Salah for his ‘special’ goal, with the winger having netted a typically stunning strike to clinch all three points for Liverpool at Anfield.

But with his latest heroics comes continued fear about an exit, with Salah running down his contract on Merseyside.

Like Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Salah will see his current deal expire at the end of the season.

He has, however, been warned against a big-money move to Saudi Arabia by Jeff Stelling, who has pointed to the struggles endured by Liverpool legends Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson there.

“I would suggest to Mo that if he’s got any doubts whether he should stay or go, he should maybe give Jordan Henderson or Steven Gerrard a call, and that might help him make his decision,” Stelling said on talkSPORT.

After guiding Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League success, Henderson left the Reds for Saudi Arabia last summer.

But he lasted less than six months at Al-Ettifaq, where Gerrard is manager, with Henderson leaving for Ajax in January.

Gerrard meanwhile is facing the sack at Al-Ettifaq, with the Liverpool icon enduring a tricky time in the dugout.

Salah’s former Anfield teammates Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are also in the Saudi Pro League, playing for Al-Ahli and Al Nassr respectively.

But supporters of the Merseyside club will be desperate for current star Salah to reject any potential advances in favour of a contract extension.

It is, however, a big ask, with money clearly no object for Saudi Pro League clubs in bringing the world’s best players to the country.
