Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract expires at the end of this season, and Real Madrid are already sniffing around for the Liverpool defender.

Los Blancos have become masters of sorts at landing some of the biggest players on the planet as free-agents, with Madrid signing Kylian Mbappe to their ranks this summer after his deal with PSG came to an end with Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba all moving to the Spanish capital on similar transfers.

And now, Madrid have their eyes set on Alexander-Arnold, with a season-ending injury to Dani Carvajal potentially accelerating the European giant’s pursuit for the Liverpool defender, who currently looks unlikely to sign a new deal at Anfield.

As a result, Liverpool are now keeping tabs on three right-backs to potentially replace Alexander-Arnold.

Jeremie Frimpong, Michael Kayode and Vanderson all wanted by Liverpool

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Jeremie Frimpong, Michael Kayode and Vanderson as potential replacements for Alexander-Arnold, should the defender leave for Madrid next summer.

The standout name from the list of three is Bayer Leverkusen’s Frimpong, who the Bundesliga’s official website branded as ‘incredibly fast’ as the Dutch international played a key role in Xabi Alonso winning an unbeaten domestic double with the German side.

The other two players on the shortlist, ACF Fiorentina youngster Kayode and AS Monaco star Vanderson, are names not many English football fans would be completely familiar with, yet the pair are likely to one day move to the Premier League having been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham,

Indeed, replacing Alexander-Arnold is going to be an impossible task considering what the England international offers, yet Liverpool seem to have started putting in the work in case of an event where the 25-year-old actually leaves Anfield.

Liverpool need to do all they can to renew Alexander-Arnold’s contract

Out of the three Liverpool superstars who are currently set to become free-agents at the end of this season, Alexander-Arnold is arguably the one how is both the most likely to stay and the most important to keep hold of.

At 25-years-old, Alexander-Arnold is yet to hit his prime having already redefined the right-back position and become a modern-day legend for Liverpool, with the England star thriving under Arne Slot this season at Liverpool.

And with some time still on the clock, Liverpool need to be doing all they can to renew Alexander-Arnold’s contract, with the defender likely to remain at Anfield if the right terms are met by the Reds.
