Although the summer window has only just been and gone it won’t be long until transfers are on the agenda at Liverpool once again.
The Reds were very quiet indeed ahead of the new season, only adding Federico Chiesa to the current squad.
What that means is that Arne Slot would potentially be wise to do some business once January eventually rolls around.
Transfer links have already started, with reports on Tuesday suggesting that Liverpool are pondering a move for Omar Marmoush of Eintracht Frankfurt.
But while incomings will certainly be welcomed by the fanbase, there is a danger that the Liverpool squad could be depleted, too.
As things stand, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk will all be able to speak to new teams about a move from the New Year. Consequently, journalist James Pearce has suggested what he’s hearing about a possible winter exit for Trent.

Trent Alexander-Arnold set for Real Madrid in January?
With more than two months to go before the January transfer window opens, there’s still time for Liverpool to nip this in the bud.
Supporters will be holding out hope that contracts for all three of Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Van Dijk will be sorted by the time 2025 is upon us.
Nevertheless, for the time being, a resolution does not look to be especially close.
As a result, rumours that Real Madrid could bring forward a move for Alexander-Arnold after Dani Carvajal’s season-ending injury have ramped up this week.

But speaking on the Walk On podcast, Pearce reassured fans that there’s ‘zero chance’ of Liverpool’s No.66 departing in January.
“There’s absolutely zero chance that Trent will go anywhere in January,” confirms the reporter. “I saw some nonsense about Real Madrid planning a bid for him in January. I don’t believe that’s true, absolute nonsense.
“My information at the moment is that there is no decision that has been taken, those [contract] talks are ongoing.”
What about Van Dijk and Salah?
A January exit for Alexander-Arnold would not really make sense for anyone.
Liverpool will still hope that they can persuade him to sign a new deal from there, while it would likely cost a fair sum to get him out of Anfield even at that stage of his contract.
In terms of Van Dijk and Salah, it is likely the exact same scenario. The only difference would be that with both players well over 30, the transfer fee would probably be much less.
As a result, the two veterans are probably even less likely to leave in the New Year than Alexander-Arnold.
Of course, things can change and if any of these three receives an attractive proposal then perhaps they will push for Liverpool to let them go mid-season. But that does not seem to be an active worry for the club right now. One bit of good news at least.
