With another international break upon us, there is no football to speak of for Liverpool over the next two weeks or so.
As a result, some have started to look ahead to what the January transfer market could bring for the Reds.
After keeping mostly quiet over the summer, there could be a need for Liverpool to do some business in 2025.
A new midfielder might be on the cards, while some would still like to see Arne Slot sign another defender as well.
In the meantime, Liverpool’s recruitment team will keep their wits about them. Although they are not often busy in terms of finalising deals, the Reds keep track of thousands of players at a time.
One who appears to have come onto the radar recently has been Nordsjaelland left-back Daniel Svensson. And the Swede has had some interesting things to say about apparant interest from Anfield.

Daniel Svensson confirms Liverpool interest
Liverpool were linked with Svensson towards the end of August, with claims that the 22-year-old is a versatile midfielder who resembles the likes of Eduardo Camavinga and Moises Caicedo.
However, speaking via Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen, Svensson says that he is actually more of a left-back asked to play in midfield.
“If I have to choose, I prefer to play left-back. But I feel good in several positions,” he says.
It’s at full-back where Liverpool’s interest would also make the most sense. With Andy Robertson over 30 and out of contract in 2026, the Reds are likely to be looking for a long-term successor to the Scot.

And after joining up with the senior Sweden squad for the October internationals, Svensson commented on the potential of a move to Liverpool or Juventus, who were also linked.
“Great fun, of course,” he says. “It’s a sign that I’m doing something right and performing well. I just take it as fuel to drive on. Of course, it was a bit surreal. It was perhaps not entirely expected that I would read about it.
“I don’t know much about it,” Svensson admitted on Liverpool specifically. “I just know that they have seen some games and such. More than that, I don’t know.
“I’m in the fifth season now. The idea is that I’m going to move on relatively soon anyway,” he said when asked if he could soon leave Nordsjaelland in the New Year. “It’s absolutely not impossible, but it might be that I play the whole season and then move on.”
Daniel Svensson is one to watch
Many Liverpool fans are unlikely to have heard too much about Svensson. But with the 22-year-old set to become a full international, that could soon change.
The Swedish youngster’s profile is an interesting one. Given that Liverpool could be looking for both a left-back and a midfielder in the near future, he is certainly one to watch.
And despite his youth, Svensson is already a relatively experienced player. He has made more than 150 senior appearances.
That will appeal to Liverpool, who like targets to have a good sample size of football under their belts before moves to Anfield.
With Sweden set to play Slovakia on Friday, perhaps it’s worth Reds fans tuning in to get a glimpse of Svensson.
