Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is unsurprisingly keeping a close eye on his former club despite leaving Anfield long ago.
He has a managerial career to focus on with Al-Ettifaq, but the Liverpool icon is still eager to see how his old club are performing under Arne Slot, with Gerrard having reacted to Federico Chiesa’s signature.
And things are certainly going well for the Dutchman so far at Anfield, with the Reds winning four of their five Premier League matches.
The Merseyside outfit are also off to a winning start in the Champions League, with Slot picking up early momentum in his brief time at the club so far.
His midfield have performed superbly thus far, but one can only imagine what Slot could achieve with a prime Gerrard at the heart of it.

Ilkay Gundogan chooses between Steven Gerrard and David Silva
Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison says Gerrard is the best-ever Premier League midfielder, with the latter having made 504 appearances in the competition.
And Manchester City ace Ilkay Gundogan is now the latest player to share his verdict on the Anfield icon’s career, having been tasked by Mail Sport to rank several midfield legends.
Gundogan had favoured Yaya Toure before David Silva was brought into the equation, with the Spaniard then ranked above a long list of midfielders, including Toure and Gerrard.
Man City ace Gundogan opted for Silva over the Liverpool hero, as well as N’Golo Kante, Paul Scholes, Mesut Ozil, Ryan Giggs, Patrick Vieira and indeed himself.
Ilkay Gundogan aiming to beat Liverpool to Premier League title
Silva did, of course, enjoy a stunning career with Man City, with the Spaniard registering tallies of 60 goals and 93 assists from his 309 appearances.
A long list of honours went his way, with Silva having shone brightly under Pep Guardiola alongside Gundogan for several years.
The German star is now back at the Etihad, having returned to the Manchester club from Barcelona after little over a year.

He will now be aiming to guide Guardiola’s side to another Premier League title, with Liverpool looking likely to be one of their main challengers.
The first Premier League meeting between the two clubs is, however, not until the start of December, with plenty of twists and turns set to take place before then.
