Liverpool certainly took their time to land their first signature under Arne Slot, but it eventually arrived in the form of Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Mamardashvili has, however, returned to Valencia for the season, and will join up with Liverpool next summer.
The goalkeeper is certain to challenge current Anfield number one Alisson for the number one role in the years to come.
Alisson helped Liverpool sign Mamardashvili, whose arrival could force Caoimhin Kelleher out of Merseyside.
Mamardashvili has impressed at Valencia since his Liverpool deal was confirmed, while he has also been shining on the international stage for Georgia.

The goalkeeper’s latest display came in his nation’s impressive 4-1 Nations League victory over the Czech Republic on Saturday.
Mamardashvili played the entire match, with his post-match actions catching the eye of Fabrizio Romano.

Many Reds fans were perhaps not expecting Slot to sign a new goalkeeper in his first transfer window in the Anfield dugout, given the presence of Alisson and Kelleher.
At the same time, however, his impending arrival should force the current Liverpool goalkeepers to up their games this season.
But it does remain to be seen what Slot has in mind for the trio next year, but one of Alisson or Kelleher is certain to exit the club.
