Liverpool’s transfer business this summer has been slow to get going, to say the least, yet next year could be another firestorm entirely.
Three key players in Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk all have their contracts coming to and end, with no current rumours suggesting whether or not the trio will pen new deals with Liverpool in the coming months.
Moreover, Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move to Real Madrid with Salah once again on Saudi Arabia’s radar, with Van Dijk also wanted by the Middle Eastern state as a potential superstar signing.
And manager Arne Slot has now shared his verdict on how he plans to keep the trio at Anfield.
Slot focused on getting the best out of Liverpool trio
Speaking to Sky Sports, Slot shared how he is focused on getting the best out of Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Van Dijk, with the Liverpool coach hopeful that their performances under the Dutchman could lead to new deals with the Reds.
Slot said when asked what he’s doing to keep Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Van Dijk at Liverpool: “The only thing I have to do, what I do with all of them, is getting and bringing the best out of them.

“We bring the best out of them and they perform really well, then it’s up to them if they want to sign, it’s up to the club to give them a new contract, but the best thing for all of them is if you are out of contract or not, get the best performances as possible then.
“Until now it’s been nothing but positive. Mo came back really strong in terms of physique, Virgil came back really strong, Trent did the same, and they brought in some good performances against Ipswich, which was only the first game like all the others.”
Slot needs to do everything to keep Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Van Dijk
Having three key players in Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Van Dijk head into the final year of their contracts without a concrete plan in place is something that is quite uncharacteristic of Liverpool.
And for Slot, the Dutch coach needs to be doing everything to ensure that the Liverpool trio extend their current deals with the club, with Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Van Dijk simply too important to be allowed to leave at the same time.
With nine months to go before the three superstars are due to leave, the clock is ticking for Liverpool to get everything in order for Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Van Dijk, who should want to remain at Anfield for longer.
