Liverpool fans may have mixed feelings about life under Arne Slot so far after he replaced Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Slot is one of five new Premier League managers, with the Liverpool boss starting his tenure brightly with a 2-0 win at Ipswich.

The Tractor Boys made things difficult for the visitors at Portman Road, but Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah eventually broke them down.

Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold shone in the win, which leaves Liverpool joint-top of the table after one match.

It was certainly a test for Slot and the Reds, who were up against an inspired Ipswich side and their boisterous supporters.

But they passed the test with flying colours, with two goals scored and a clean sheet the ideal start for Slot.

There was, however, another hugely impressive statistic from the win, which should have Liverpool fans very excited.

Liverpool fans now expect constant attacking under Arne Slot

Many Liverpool fans may point to the fact they were playing against a newly-promoted club, which is, of course, understandable.

But they must also remember that Slot is new to the division, and hasn’t had a lot of time to work with his entire squad.

The Dutchman’s players returned to pre-season at different stages of the summer, with many international stars arriving very late.

But he put the work in behind the scenes, which has paid dividends after one match, with Slot’s attacking intent clear for all to say.

The manager has now set the bar high for future matches, with fans now expecting their side to attack from the very first minute, having very much appreciated the same approach from Klopp.
