Liverpool are preparing for a busy final week of the transfer window as they finalise their squad.
The Reds have been silent in terms of incomings so far this summer, but have trimmed a little bit of fat on the first-team.
Bobby Clark became the second permanent exit of the off-season on Thursday, with Sepp van den Berg likely to leave soon after.
If Van den Berg is sold for the reported £25m price-tag, it will put Liverpool’s takings at at over £60m. There is little excuse for them not to make a big signing on the back of that.
And they’re not quite finished yet. Along with the youngsters being sold, Arne Slot could yet move along a bigger name from the Liverpool squad.

Chelsea explored Joe Gomez deal
While the likes of Carvalho, Clark and Van den Berg would have been good to have around this season, none would have found significant minutes at Anfield.
As a result, Liverpool may as well look to move them on while their stock is high and clubs are interested.
Another player who has found himself on the radar of a number of sides is defender Joe Gomez.
Gomez could leave Liverpool in the final days of the window having been left out of Slot’s first ever Premier League squad away at Ipswich last Saturday.
A handful of teams are rumoured to be in for Gomez, with the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle seemingly the most likely destinations for the 27-year-old.

Surprisingly, Chelsea have also been mentioned as a possible landing place for Gomez.
According to the Liverpool ECHO, though, it is now ‘almost certain’ that the centre-back will not be moving to Stamford Bridge.
Gomez is reportedly still ‘exploring his options’ in the market and it’s claimed that Chelsea did reach out to his agents to ‘sound the out’ after Slot left him out of the Ipswich matchday squad.
However, it’s claimed that Liverpool had no contact from the Blues on the back of that and it is unlikely any deal can now happen.
What will happen with Joe Gomez?
While it was not a huge surprise to learn that Gomez is looking to leave Liverpool, it would have been helpful if things had been more or less sorted by now.
It has been six days since the game against Ipswich and nothing seems to have moved any further along.
Liverpool could do with knowing what Gomez is planning to do so they can get their own house in order. If Joe leaves, then they absolutely definitely need a new centre-back bringing in.
With just eight days of the window left to run, it all has to be sorted one way or another very soon.
It’s good to know that Gomez is not heading to Chelsea, but some clarity is now needed on where he will be playing next season. The longer it goes on without that, the more likely it feels that he will stay.
