Liverpool are focusing on outgoings rather than incomings in the summer transfer window as another player nears an exit.

Arne Slot wants to sign his first player soon, but for the time being the new Liverpool manager has been busy shipping out members of his squad.

Liverpool fans were angry after the selling of Fabio Carvalho, who has joined Premier League rivals Brentford for £27million.

It is the most significant Anfield exit so far this summer, while a handful of other young players having left on loan under Slot.

But with plenty of time still to go in the summer transfer window, many more twists and turns can be expected.

Sepp van den Berg agrees Liverpool exit

Potentially now following Carvalho not only in a Liverpool exit but a switch to Brentford is Sepp van den Berg.

According to Sky Sports News reporter Lyall Thomas, the Bees have agreed a deal in principle with the Reds to sign the centre-back for £25million plus £5million in add-ons.

The reporter added that there is also interest from Bayer Leverkusen, who need to sell a defender first, with the decision now in the hands of Van den Berg.

Where will Sepp van den Berg go?

Mainz head coach Bo Svensson labelled Van den Berg ‘incredibly talented’ following his successful loan spell there last season.

The 22-year-old has also been sent on loan to Preston North End and Schalke during his time on Merseyside.

But now it is becoming increasingly likely that the young defender will leave Liverpool on a permanent basis.

One uncertainty is, however, his next destination, with the player now seemingly free to choose between two top sides.

Brentford have been enjoying themselves in the Premier League under Thomas Frank in recent years, while Bayer Leverkusen have been flying high under Reds legend Xabi Alonso.
