Liverpool need to get a shift on if they are to avoid becoming just the second team in history to go through a whole summer window without making a signing.
The Reds have not needed to add much to the squad inherited by Arne Slot, which still looks more than capable of achieving success.
But there are undoubtedly one or two areas that should look to be upgraded. With just nine days in which to make new additions in, Liverpool are running out of time to do that.
Thankfully, there does appear to be some movement at Anfield. In a slightly strange move, Liverpool are pushing to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.
And with the Reds hoping to secure Mamardashvili in the next few days, they have reportedly set their sights on a second target in Spain.

Although Mamardashvili has the potential to be an excellent signing for Liverpool in the long run, he does nothing to improve the squad right at this moment.
Fans would love to see FSG head purposefully into the market to bring in a top defensive midfielder or a new centre-back.
For now, though, it doesn’t look all that likely that supporters will get their wish.
Instead, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have actually targeted a second goalkeeper from La Liga.

They claim that Liverpool are one of the clubs very interested in Espanyol shot stopper Joan Garcia.
Premier League rivals Arsenal appear to be at the front of the queue at this stage and it’s claimed that the Gunners have even agreed on personal terms with Garcia already.
However, Mundo Deportivo report that Liverpool are ‘close behind’ in the race to sign the 23-year-old, wo is said to have a release clause of around £26m.
Girona are also claimed to be involved and have reportedly already made an offer to sign Garcia.
Could Liverpool sign two goalkeepers?
This is an interesting story, largely because Mundo Deportivo do actually reference the fact that Liverpool are close to signing Mamardashvili.
The Spanish outlet do not specify whether any interest in Garcia is as well as or instead of the Georgian.
If we were guessing, we’d assume that if there is interest in the Espanyol man, then it is perhaps on standby in the event that Caoimhin Kelleher leaves.
Kelleher has been linked with a move away and although he currently seems set to stay with Liverpool, that could still change.
Perhaps Liverpool are planning for a future scenario with Mamardashvili as number one, and Garcia as his back-up. Given the named price-tag for the Spaniard, though, we’re not sure that’s especially likely.
