Liverpool are pushing their luck if they are to make any signings before next week’s transfer deadline.
The transfer window slams shut a week on Friday with the Reds still yet to make any additions at all this summer.
There does appear to be the potential for some late movement, however. Joe Gomez could be sold with Liverpool likely to target a replacement.
As well as a potential incoming at centre-back there remains a chance that Arne Slot could make further sales, too. Along with Gomez, a further four Liverpool players could be sold.
That could free up room in the Liverpool squad for a signing or two, and it seems as though the Reds have been busy in negotiations to maybe fill one or two gaps.

Liverpool offered Giorgi Mamardashvili exchange
It has been a long and frustrating summer for Liverpool fans who love a good transfer.
While things on the pitch have so far been going well under Slot, there is a fear that the Reds are about to leave the new head coach short of what he really needs to succeed.
Nevertheless, you can’t rule Liverpool out from a surprise late raid just yet. With Michael Edwards pulling the strings, under the radar moves are certainly possible.
One deal which has been negotiated in anything but secret is a potential transfer for Giorgi Mamardashvili. Liverpool have been in talks to bring Mamardashvili to Anfield for a while.

Disappointingly, though, the Reds are yet to find an agreement for the Valencia goalkeeper, who Ange Postecoglou called ‘outstanding’ during ITV’s Euro 2024 coverage this summer.
According to Valencia based journalist Hector Gomez, however, Liverpool have been trying every trick in the book to get a favourable deal over the line, even offering players in exchange. But the Spanish side have held their ground.
“Valencia and LFC negotiate for Mamardashvili,” says Gomez. “The English are still not reaching 40 [million Euros] guaranteed and the VCF asks that the bonuses be easy or it will not be done. They have made some progress but Liverpool have to guarantee 40.
“VCF has rejected players as part of the operation,” adds the reporter. “Player [Mamardashvili] wants it to close.”
Who might Liverpool have offered to Valencia?
This is not something we have become used to seeing for Liverpool, but it was reportedly something they employed as they tried to sign Martin Zubimendi earlier this month.
It was reported that Liverpool offered Stefan Bajcetic to Real Sociedad as part of Zubimendi’s potential transfer.
With Slot keen to send Bajcetic out on-loan, we’d suggest that the Spaniard could have been one put forward by Liverpool in an attempt to sign Mamardashvili, too.
Bajcetic has a big future at Liverpool but a move that would allow him more regular football, such as at Valencia, would certainly be beneficial.
Los Che are seemingly steadfast in their want for cold hard cash in exchange for their goalkeeper, though. So, Liverpool are either going to have to pay up or move on. Time is ticking.
