The transfer window closes in just under two weeks, and Liverpool remain the only Premier League club to not do business of any kind.

Arne Slot is yet to delve too deep into the transfer market this summer, with Liverpool failing in a bid to sign Martin Zubimendi as the Reds test the waters for a new central midfielder and defender.

With Joe Gomez now keen to leave Liverpool, though, a flurry of late activity could be on the cards for the Anfield side with just 12 days left in the summer window, where additions will be needed if the Merseyside club are to compete for the title.

And one rumoured Liverpool target is now looking to push through a move in a big way.

Giorgi Mamardashvili’s team pressuring Valencia to accept Liverpool’s demands

According to the Mirror, Giorgi Mamardashvili’s advisors are putting pressure on Valencia to not price the Georgia international out of a move to Liverpool, with the La Liga side demanding £34m for the 23-year-old.

As per the report, the Reds are only willing to go as high as £30m for Mamardashvili, with the goalkeeper viewed as a long-term replacement for Alisson Becker and a potential no. 2 if Caoimhin Kelleher can also be sold this summer.

With Mamardashvili set on a move to Liverpool, pressure from the Geogian’s team to get a deal done could finally break Valencia and allow the Merseyside giants to secure the goalkeeper’s signature at long last.

And with just under two weeks of the window left to go, Valencia might crack sooner rather than later, with the La Liga side unlikely to keep Mamardashvili on their books if the keeper is set on leaving for Liverpool.

Mamardashvili could be an excellent long-term signing for the Reds

Replacing Alisson is something Liverpool have to consider with the Brazilian international turning 32-years-old later this year, though the situation is arguably not as urgent as many initially think.

Yet in signing Mamardashvili, Liverpool could have a fantastic long-term signing in the Valencia star, who seems intent on moving to Anfield and making a name for himself with the Premier League giants.

Indeed, Liverpool securing an immediate replacement for Alisson in Mamardashvili for £30m could be a coup in the years to come, and the Reds might be set for the goalkeeping position for the next decade if a deal can be reached soon.
