Liverpool are running out of time to do some business in the summer transfer window.
With just ten days left in which they can sign players, the Reds have quite remarkably failed to make a single addition so far.
At this point of the summer, Liverpool have usually done everything they needed to with months to spare, barring a couple of loans for fringe players and whatnot.
This time, though, with Arne Slot replacing Jurgen Klopp and plenty of international football, the Reds have been left behind a little. The first-team squad has not been refreshed.
Things could still change, however, with the situation of Joe Gomez in particular cause for scrutiny in the last days before August the 30th.

Liverpool planning Joe Gomez replacement
Headlines were created when Gomez was left out of the Liverpool squad to face Ipswich on Saturday.
It soon became clear that the 27-year-old is pondering an exit from the club he’s been at for the past nine years.
While it would be a big blow to lose him, it has been claimed that Slot is keen to sell Gomez after relegating him to fourth choice centre-back.
The only player to see out the whole of the Klopp era at Anfield, perhaps the time is right for the defender to move on. No one would begrudge Gomez a move if that is what he wants.

Should he go, though, the England international would leave a really big hole in the team. Gomez can play all across the backline and even filled in playing midfield last season.
Thankfully, according to journalist David Lynch, Liverpool absolutely would go into the transfer market to replace Gomez if he does depart.
“It opens up a space in the squad for Liverpool to do something,” Lynch tells Anfield Index.
“I absolutely expect that they will sign someone if they do let him go.”
Who could Liverpool sign?
Leaving things this late in the transfer window is never good. If Gomez is to leave, then Liverpool will have incredibly limited options as to who can replace him.
Part of the reason the No.2 is so valuable is because he can ably play in different positions. But as Slot seems to view him solely as a centre-back, it feels like that’s where Liverpool would aim to recruit.
Even then, the market is slim. There have been claims that Liverpool are set to bid for Goncalo Inacio and perhaps the Portuguese is the most likely candidate here.
As Inacio has a release clause, the Reds would remove the obstacle of having to negotiate with Sporting if they indicated an unwillingness to talk.
Either way, this is going to have to be sorted quickly. Gomez needs to give Liverpool time to bring someone in if he is wanting to go. So, expect this all to be resolved one way or another over the coming days.
