Caoimhin Kelleher would ‘love’ to secure a transfer away from Liverpool

Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher would ‘love’ to leave Liverpool in the final weeks of the 2024 summer transfer window. That is according to David Lynch, who reports that the 25-year-old set out entering the off-season to leave Anfield as he bids to earn regular first-team football.

Kelleher remains determined to be the No1 with a new club in the new season but Liverpool are yet to receive any offers. The Reds have even not heard of any firm interest for Kelleher’s transfer, which the Anfield outfit are demanding £20-25m to sanction before the sales close.

Injury problems for Alisson Becker allowed Kelleher to enjoy his first consistent run in goal at Liverpool last term. The 14-cap Republic of Ireland international recorded 10 of his 15 career Premier League games in 2023/24, having never previously played more than two per term.

Trent Alexander-Arnold wants his Liverpool contract talks kept private

Vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold is demanding that Liverpool keep details regarding his negotiations about any new contract private. That is according to the Liverpool ECHO, which reports that the right-back does not want his future debated publicly in respect for the Reds.

Alexander-Arnold intends to keep quiet regarding his future in the public eye having entered the final year of his existing contract. The 25-year-old last agreed to sign fresh terms back in July 2021 which tied the Liverpool academy graduate down on Merseyside up to June 2025.

The possibility of signing Alexander-Arnold as a free agent next summer has earned interest from Real Madrid. But the 29-cap England international has not officially ruled out agreeing to stay at Liverpool, the club Alexander-Arnold joined aged six and has only ever played for.

Michael Owen makes a bold Premier League title prediction involving Liverpool

Anfield hero Michael Owen has made a bold prediction for the 2024/25 Premier League title race with Liverpool finishing above defending champions, Manchester City. But the Reds are not his favourites for the title with Owen backing Arsenal to win their first crown in 20 years.

Owen expects Manchester City will, finally, fall off their perch in the new season having won the past four titles. Pep Guardiola led the Citizens to becoming the first club to win four in a row last term. But Owen believes the Etihad Stadium side will only secure fourth place next.

Instead, Owen predicts Arsenal will pip Liverpool to win the 24/25 Premier League title and that Aston Villa will achieve third place. The Gunners have not won the title since the north Londoners went a full season unbeaten in 2003/04, but have ended the past two in second.

Arsenal were just two points shy of winning the Premier League title last season, as well, as Liverpool settled for third in Jurgen Klopp’s final campaign in charge at Anfield. Arne Slot is now in charge on Merseyside but Owen is expecting a successful transition for his old team.
