Liverpool have been told by Opta where they are likely to finish in the final 2024/25 Premier League table.

Arne Slot is one of five new Premier League managers, with the Dutchman having arrived at Anfield from Feyenoord, taking over from Jurgen Klopp.

He guided Feyenoord to second place in last season’s Eredivisie table, with the manager now hoping to go one better at Liverpool.

Slot’s training sessions are ‘intense’ and ‘demanding’, with the boss having been putting his players through their paces this summer.

It has certainly been working well so far, with the Reds having won four of their five pre-season matches, drawing the other.

Opta supercomputer predicts Liverpool’s Premier League final position

They beat Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United in the USA, but Slot will be well aware that those meetings meant very little compared to the upcoming season.

While Slot will be paying little attention to any outside noise, the Opta supercomputer has now made its projections for the new season.

Across its 10,000 season simulations, Manchester City have been given an 82.2% chance of winning the 2024/25 Premier League.

Arsenal rank second with a 12.2% projected chance of winning the title, with Liverpool third favourites at 5.1%.

What will Arne Slot want from his first Liverpool season?

Liverpool supporters will undoubtedly be keen for Slot to clinch a trophy in his first season at the club, but that is certainly a tall order.

The Premier League trophy is perhaps wanted the most, particularly given the current rampage that Manchester City are on.

But it may be foolish for the Anfield faithful to expect Slot to completely dethrone Pep Guardiola in what is a transition season for Liverpool.

Champions League football is also returning to Anfield, with fans undoubtedly wanting the Reds to enjoy a lengthy stay in Europe’s premier club competition.

Manchester City will definitely be hard to topple in the coming months, while Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are also in with a strong chance of lifting the trophy.
